Low cost volunteer is a small independent organisation who help potential volunteers find a low cost volunteer project in Africa

LCV was set up when after many years of travelling around the world, I wanted to become more involved in development and humanitarian work, all aimed at providing a better future for people who are less privileged than many of us. I wanted to spend time volunteering in an area that was meaningful and rewarding. Knowing how happy people can be when they have so little and seeing how much happiness we can bring just by giving a little love and time back.

A favourite quote of mine is, “Happiness in inward and not outward, so it doesn’t matter what we have, but what we are”

A lot of these people I have spent time with, live life adhering to the above quote, but without even trying. They don’t judge people on materialistic values.  Much of society these days have the option to how they choose to live their lives and how they distinguish a good person from a bad person, yet still so many people are caught up in ‘I own this’ and ‘I make this much’. I think many people are so caught up in a world of power and economy they seem loose sight of what is important.

When I looked into volunteering abroad I found the costs to be extremely expensive. So after extensive searching for non profit NGO’s who offered projects at a low cost I decided to start LCV to give more opportunity to others wishing to volunteer abroad.
